The Body Shop Make-Up Competition 2010

By 11:45 , , ,

After the Burt's Bees workshop at The Royale Bintang Hotel, the Curve, I dashed over to PJLA at Jaya One for The Body Shop Make-Up Competition 2010 which starts at 3pm. This is the 3rd year The Body Shop is having this competition for it's make-up artists.

Once I registered and given my goodie bag *winks*, I was shown into the theatre. The stage was all set and there was a section set up for make overs. After I got my make over done, there was a photographer waiting to take pictures with The Body Shop Spring background. Oh so girly!

I got my make over done by Vinz Sebastian, Make-Up Specialist for The Body Shop Malaysia. I actually met Vince a few years back when he did a photoshoot for me. It was a pleasant surprise seeing him again. He did a fresh and natural look on me. I like! :)

I got an A4 sized portrait to keep..
No touch-ups though, can see my terrible eye bags! lol!

The competition started after most of the guests and judges arrived. The judges invited for the competition were Joanna Kam Poh Poh, The Editor of Glam Magazine Malaysia and Vinz Sebastian.

The 10 finalists took to the stage with their models to showcase their skill. They had 20 minutes to demonstrate their techniques, blending skills amongst other criteria that they were to be judged on. They were also required to use The Body Shop's Spring Trend Make-Up Collection which is dewy and fresh. Doesn't it sound pretty already..

Most of The Body Shop's Spring Trend Make-Up Collection contains Community Trade Marula Oil such as the blushers, stains and lip colours. Marula oil is very moisturising therefore very good for the skin.

Guests were invited on stage to have a look at how the finalists executed their skill. I was so intrigued and amazed at the skill possessed by the finalists. Finalists No. 4, Azza's work caught my eye right away. Gorgeous!

After 20 minutes was up and the finalists' work of art judged, Joanne Kam Poh Poh entertained us while the votes were being counted. Hillarious! Lurv her! (She's on Team Jacob by the way.. Lol!)

Time for the winner - 7 finalists were given consolation prizes. The Silver Award (3rd place) - Siew Wern, he Gold Award (2nd place) - Zul and the Platinum Award (1st place) Aza. My pick won! Yay!! The Platinum Award winner walked away with RM1800 worth of cash and products, a place to participate in the regionals in Singapore.
