The Body Shop x Lily Cole Make Up Collection - Review and Get The Look

By 17:22

The stunning Lily Cole has collaborated with The Body Shop for a limited edition cruelty free makeup. She is also the new global ambassador for the brand. I briefly mentioned about it in my earlier post on The Body Shop's New Pulse Boutique here and for the past three weeks have been dying to do a separate post on it. To get all you Body Shop fans all excited, it launches tomorrow, 11th June!! Woohoo!!

The Lily Cole collection consists of a good range of products from the Pearl Radiance Primer, Puff On Radiance, Shimmer Cubes, Liquid Liner, Lip & Cheek Dome and Hi Shine Lip Treatment. It also comes with other accessories, a make up bag for your stash, compact mirror, nail buffer and nail filer, all with the Lily Cole stamp on them. There are some products that will not be available here but we'll get most of the good stuff. *smiles gleefully*

From the range, you will be able to create two different looks- Make A Statement with the Pink Revolution or go Perfectly Pretty with Coral Me Beautiful. The products I'll be reviewing for this post are the Shimmer Cubes(!!), Puff On Radiance, Lip & Cheek Dome and the Liquid Liner.

The Shimmer Cubes comes in two colour palettes, 24 for an exciting sultry look and 06 for a warm earthy look. With four colours you can mix & match to create your personalised look. I have 24 which is a range of iridescent pink and lilacs - Think Pink, Live Lilac, Go Violet and Tint It Pink. I chose this over the warm eathy tones and I'm completely loving the colours. It's brilliant! It's shimmer packed but well pigmented, making it sit really pretty on the eyes. The texture is smooth and it applies smoothly over the lids. (Retails at RM79)

To compliment the pink and lilac shimmer cubes, there's the Liquid Liner in Ink Up Violet. This fits into my current collection perfectly since I'm currently going crazy over coloured liners for Spring/Summer. It has a fine tip applicator which makes application super simple. Though I find the texture slightly watery, so to get the colour impact I applied 2 layers. It comes out beautiful. This one's smudge proof but it lasts as long as until I had to remove it, with an eye primer of course. *oily lids* I couldn't seem to capture the violet properly, it turned out blue-ish. Decided to compare it with the pastel purple nail colour I had on. Yup, it's violet. (Retails at RM42)

The Lip & Cheek Dome comes in two shades, Pinch Me Pink and Crazy For Coral. As I was going for a look, I chose Pinch Me Pink. I think the dome shape is cool but I prefer applying it with a brush or fingers instead of directly from the dome. The texture is creamy but light. It's not highly pigmented and appears almost sheer with one application but it's buildable.  Even then it doesn't really pop on my skin tone. Due to it's light formula, it looks very natural but sadly this does not last all too long on me even with primer. I would say about 3 hours before noticing some colour fading. Wearing it on the lips looks very natural, like a flush of pink. But I would suggest having lip balm underneath or gloss on top as it's a tad dry. This shade would definitely suit a fairer skin tone better. (RM53)

And to complete the look, Puff On Radiance. A pot of tri-colour shimmer beads that leaves a pink toned, luminescent finish. Great for highliting for the face or even better the décolletage. It comes with a cute soft puff made from manmade fibres. Crazy cute this one! I use it with a small sized brush to highlight parts of my face as using it with the cute puff might turn out disastrous. The décolletage however is a must to highlight. *winks* (Retails at RM79)

Here's what I came up with using the products from Lily Cole's collection. A Pink-Violet day look. :)

Get The Look - Pink Revolution

1. Apply Tint It Pink all over the eyelid and up to the brow.
2. Apply Live Lilac all over eyelid up to the brow bone. Fade out the edges.
3. Blend Think Pink along the crease to just past the natural lash line.
4. Smudge Go Violet along the upper lash line and outer corner of the eye and underneath the lower lash.

5. Trace Liquid Eyeliner in Ink Up Violet along the lash line.
6. Coat lashes with mascara in black.

As you can see the colours are so wearable for the day. I'm going to try darker eyes next. Okie maybe not next, but some time this week perhaps. :)
