Review: Kiehl's Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash

By 13:28 , ,

Here's a new cleanser from Kiehl's to complement its much loved Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol Free Toner. Unfortunately the Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash doesn't have the hand-picked Marigold flower petals floating in it. I rather fancy having it floating about, it adds to the effect. However, it still comes in the amber coloured bottle that's synonymous with the toner.

The Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash has been created to effectively remove dirt and oil while protecting the skin barrier. Amino-acid is used for deep cleansing and to induce foam. The inclusion of a vegetable based ingredient helps remove dirt and excess oil. While the Calendula Flower Extract is used for its soothing properties and glycerin to add moisture and replenish, hydrate skin.

The gel formula lathers into a rich foamy consistency with that same light herbal scent as the toner that I find calming. Having being used to cleansers meant especially for combination to oily skin types, this one is surprisingly very nice to use. Despite it being for normal-oily skin types, its cleanses well without stripping my skin of its essential moisture. Basically it leaves my face feeling comfortable and fresh without any tightness. There also wasn't much or any residue on the cotton pad when I followed up with toner.

You can pair this up with the Calendula Toner, but I used my usual exfoliating toner and found that it works just as good. I don't normally stray from my current cleanser but the Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash has become a quite a favourite of mine. It's especially great for the extremely hot and humid weather we're experiencing at the moment. It's soap-free and sulfate-free.

Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash will be available July onwards at all Kiehl's oulets and will retail at RM105 (230ml).
