NARS Spring 2016 Collection - Review & Swatches
It's called Nouvelle Vogue and it's what Spring colours are made off. The NARS Spring 2016 Collection is mostly neutral with hints of colours. NARS describes it - Orchid blush radiates from a natural, matte complexion and lips captivate in shimmering apricot, rose and mulled wine. Eyes mesmerize in icy mint, matte beige and bronzed rose tones paired with a bold, winged liner. The must-have of the season: Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in a sumptuous, versatile spectrum that can be applied dry for a sophisticated sheer effect, or wet for a dramatic, high-shine finish.
Basically with the introduction of the latest NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint, skin is meant to look fresh, natural and suppose to show through. Focus is on the eyes which is why there are three new Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow shades in Tarvos, - an icy mint, Cressida - a shimmering midnight blue, Kari - a soft rosy pink, and a Duo Eyeshadow in Hammamet - a matte beige and a bronze rose (limited edition). I have completely fallen for Hammamet, it's gorgeous! However I have Tavros, an icy mint shade, not a shade I would usually wear but it's a beautiful Spring shade. Wear it dry for a soft wash of colour or apply with a damp brush to get those intense eyes.
To compliment the eyes, blush this Spring comes in the shade Impassioned, a matte soft pink orchid pink. It looks a lot light in the pan and I wasn't sure whether is was going to show on me but it looks so on the cheeks. The soft texture makes it easy to layer on to a slightly more obvious tone and it blends seamlessly. It's perfect for a heavier eye looks when you just want a wash of colour on the cheeks.
For lips, there are two Satin lipsticks in Rose Cliff - a soft rose, and Banned Red - a mulled wine, as well as two limited edition Lipglosses in Vida Loca - guava, and Instant Crash - a soft shimmering apricot. I have Instant Crash and it applies nicely and sets without feeling sticky. A that can either be worn on it's own for that nude lips look or layered on top on a lipstick to get that sheen.
In the photo I'm wearing, Tarvos on my eyes, Impassioned on my cheeks with Instant Crash on my lips. I have to admit it's a pretty combination. But if I were to choose my must-haves from the NARS Nouvelle Vogue collection, it has to be Hammamet Duo Eyeshadow, Kari Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow, Impassioned Blush and Banned Red Satin Lipstick.
